A slow paced day

 
 
 
 
Not much going on here today. Greg worked a 16 hour day today so we didn't see him at all. I took the kids to church and to gramma's house for lunch. Then we stopped at the park for just a few minutes. Pretty low key day at home this afternoon. It is only 9pm and I am beat though. I think the sleepless nights from earlier in the week have taken their toll on me. The laundry will remain unfolded in a pile on the floor until tomorrow and the burnt on stuff on the stove will stay there until tomorrow too. Good night! 

Nail Party

 
 
 
  Last night the girls went upstairs to paint their nails. I told them not to paint Creighton's this time. So I went to the toyroom and found him coloring his with markers. I guess he didn't want to be left out. 

Moon Sand

 
 
 
  This was the coolest feeling stuff. It was almost like a cross between very fine sand and mud only the catch was that it didn't stick to the kids at all. I had never seen it before. Colby said it was called moon sand. Apparently she has played with it at science camp or something. 

Heaven on Earth for Colby

 
 
 
  Colby loves art. She was ever so thrilled to walk into a room with every art and craft supply imaginable all at her disposal to use any way she wanted. She painted and the little ones drew with markers. Maddison loves markers and usually uses them to color something she isn't supposed to. I asked Creighton what he was drawing and he said "a potato". And it even looked like one :) 

Snakes

  This room included all sorts of fun things that had to do with putting things into motion. Zooming golf balls down various ramps and through loops and tunnels, putting together race cars and running them down a ramped race track and a big train track to explore. This was Creighton's favorite room and Maddison loved the train track too. 

At the Pizza Shop

 
 
 
 
This was very cool too. Get a pizza pan add the crust and toppings and serve it up! Maddison preferred holding the refrigerator door open for everyone and Creighton was a whiz at the cash register. They left the cooking to Colby.... 

Shopping

 
 
 
 
The kids had a blast loading up their shopping carts at the Children's Museum grocery store. It was a very cool thing. Just like the big grocery store, only smaller :) What fun they had pretending to be big people. Creighton was pretending to be Jimmie Johnson driving the #48 shopping cart speeding up and down the aisles and skidding around the corners :) 

Coralridge Mall

 
 
 
  Colby, Creighton, Maddison and I took a trip to Coralridge Mall today. I stuck the little ones in the "cars" in order to keep them contained while traversing across the mall. We hit the food court for lunch, 2 trips around on the carousel, several HOURS at the Children's Museum and ended the day with Dippin' Dots Ice Cream. It was a wonderful day and all three kids were perfect angels all day. I couldn't have asked for a better Saturday. More pictures from the Children's Museum to come later. I have to go referee in the toy room for now as a result of it being a "no nap day". Only two hours till bedtime :) 

Mt. Dew????

You know your son is feeling better when your daycare provider calls you at work to see if you fed him Mt. Dew for breakfast.....

He is going full force today, making up for lost time.

It's chilly outside, but the sun is shining bright on the porch. Lizzie and Sophie are snuggled up soaking in the sunshine.

  I didn't get to see her in her costume, but I bet she made a VERY cute kitty! 

No Such Luck

I was praying for an uneventful night last night, but no such luck. Creighton got up at 2am and proceeded to puke all over the house before he woke me up. And of course we still had no water at this point (we haven't had water since Sunday.) So Greg worked on the water pump all night and finally at 6am we got water. Another night with very little sleep for any of us (except Colby who sleeps through everything).

This no water business really sucked. No showers, no flushing toilets, no dishwasher, no washer and a kid with diarehha and puking. Today I am home washing, scrubbing, disinfecting and hopefully taking a nap this afternoon. It is amazing how much we take running water for granted. Just not being able to wash my hands under the faucet drove me crazy. (we had bottled water to wash hands with, but that is no easy task either). Thank goodness I was able to go to mom's to take a shower every morning. There is no way I could have functioned without!

So today I am appreciating my washer, my dishwasher, flushing toilets, my shower AND my steam cleaner. It's been a LONG week.....

Today

This is the second day in a row that I have been at work with less than 4 hours sleep. I am dragging. It has been a long day. I have a meeting at 5:30pm and probably won't get home until 8pm. I think I have to go get coffee to get through this boring meeting that I have to be fairly alert during. I am tired and whining.

Pray that no one else in my house throws up tonight. We need sleep. All of us....
