I am torn....so very sad about the beautiful Parks and Recreation facilities that have been destroyed over the last two days. First (yesterday) the monstrous chemical fire at the golf course. Then the cemetery and Kent Stein Park devestated by the tornado. It made my head and heart hurt--not sure which one worse....
But, we had DOZENS of employees out working in the Parks and the Golf Course when these horrible natural disasters struck and NO ONE was injured. That is a blessing and so much to be thankful for. It was a dangerous situation, lives could have been lost, but everyone was protected and spared from injury. Thanks God......
I am so thankful to be part of such a dedicated and caring Parks and Recreation team. Together we will work through these devestations and continue to be thankful that we are all ok. Buildings can be re-built, facilities can be repaired, equipment can be replaced. So much to be thankful for amidst the chaos of today's event.
