laughs all around....

These three were having quite a time playing with Uncle Jay this afternoon. Not sure what the 'game' was, but it was soliciting a lot of laughter!

some of my favorite little people (and big horse)

This big boy just hung out and ate grass by the pool while the kids swam this afternoon. He is like a dog...always wants to be right underfoot where the action is :)
Lots of laughs.....
a little bit of seriousness......
and some intense noodle wars.......

That's about it for today. We did some cleaning this morning. I went on a long bike ride. Colby had her pitching lesson. Stopped by my mom and dads. Jay and Maddie came out for swimming and grilling. I went on another long bike ride. Now everyone is sleeping and I am finishing up the weekend chores that were left undone Saturday.

unbelieveable

Greg and I spent the day helping neighbors begin cleaning up their flood ravaged house. It's very overwhelming. The destruction is horrific. The filth and stench is indescribable. It is so sad to see their special things and all of their belongings strewn about the house and yard covered in contaminated river mud. This is what a very neat, tidy, and cute little house looks like after the Cedar River rages through it....... (this is Jack and JoAnn Broders house--or rather what used to be their house)

t-ball

Creighton played his first t-ball game tonight.

Not sure what was going on here. But, at one point in the game he was sitting in the field....while playing shortstop :)

Forget the Repairperson...

So, I decided to do a little investigating on the A/C situation myself tonight. Greg and the kids are sleeping. First of all, I know that there is air coming out of the registers. It's just not cold and it's staying on all of the time, not kicking on or off. So, I assume that is just the fan running. I go outside and see if the A/C unit is running. Nope, it's not. So, I head to the basement and take a peek in the electrical panel. Yep, one tripped breaker. #1 and it's labeled A/C. Flip the breaker to on. A/C kicks on, cold air flows. I am pretty handy if I must say so myself :) One service call avoided and a cool house tomorrow. YIPPEE!

Again....

So last night I watched the news and they were talking some warm temps for the week. I decided to turn on our A/C for the first time this year to try to stay ahead of the upcoming hot days. Yeah, it doesn't work. It was just installed last JULY! (when we turned on the air for the first time last year. and our old unit didn't work--I see a trend here:) Good thing is that it should still be under warranty and is probably something simple. Although we may have to pay for a trip for someone to come out here. The quickest route right now is 25 miles (from our house to the bypass). Our quick 10 mile trip is now 25 and it could be months before hwy 22 is fixed. I have been going back and forth this week and not staying in town. I guess if it is going to be awhile I am just going to have to suck it up and buy lots of gas. Pretty tough when you have a house for sale and no one can get to it--this is not good. I was REALLY wanting to move sometime in July or EARLY August. I guess it could still happen, but not likely.

Better get the laundry folded and hit the hay...in my extra warm bedroom :)

Got this email today and had to laugh.... :)

I did what you told me...
I sent your last email to 10 people like you said.
I'm still waiting for that miracle to happen

To all my friends who in 2007 sent me best 'wishes', chain letters, 'angel' letters or other promises of good luck if I forwarded something, NONE OF THAT CRAP WORKED!.

For 2008, could you please just send money, chocolate, beer, gasoline vouchers and airline tickets instead?

Thank you!

Building a road

(For some reason the pics didn't show up before.)

Creighton spent a lot of time this afternoon with his 'working trucks' hauling rock around the driveway. He was jabbering to hisself the whole time. When I asked what he was doing he said 'building a road'. Obviously that has been the topic of discussion in this neighborhood quite often the last few days.

oh yeah...

The reason I have so many pics of Creighton and none of Colby this weekend is because we haven't seen her! She went to a birthday party Saturday morning and then ended up swimming at my brothers house that afternoon and we haven't seen her yet! But, sounds like she has ENJOYED her time with Mackenzie and the others.

Four-wheelin'

This is now our mode of transportation around here. There are no streets open and it is the only way to get through some areas. So lots of time on the 4-wheeler for all of us this weekend. (and yes mother, creighton always wears his helmet--he was just moving it a few feet in picture #1 to get it out of the way :)

going out to 'check on stuff''.....
Not sure why he was pushing his four wheeler here--never know about him :)

Pool time

Creighton comes up with all kinds of crazy moves while jumping into the water. These here he called 'the bicycle'. :)

Lillies in bloom

When I got home Friday night I was so happy to see my lillies in bloom. I love them. However, I don't love my dog swimming in the landscape pond. They won't stay out of it therefore, we can't have the fountain going (they knock it over), they knock all of the limestone into the pond, and it is always about 6 inches from full.
