Colby had her first piano lesson tonight. She has been begging me to take lessons since she got her keyboard last Christmas. She absolutely LOVED it and LOVED Mrs. R too. I wasn't sure how fond of it she would be, but I was thrilled to see her level of excitement after her lesson tonight. She not only will be doing lessons, but also will be studying theory and technique/artistry. I think this will give her a better understanding and a true appreciation for music. She also asked me today if she could be part of the Colorado Jammers musical group. It is fun to see her musical side come out. I am so happy for her.
These pictures are of Colby tonight. And, 25 years ago, I sat at this bench, at this piano, with Mrs. R, taking my first piano lessons. Fond memories were stirred up tonight after walking through Mrs. R's door for the first time in about 20 years or so.
The last thing Colby said to me tonight as I was tucking her in was, "I didn't know Mrs. R would be SOOO nice. I love her. Do I REALLY get to go to piano lessons EVERY week?". I am so happy that she enjoys it so much. Hopefully, her excitement and desire to learn more continues for a long time.

That is so great! I WISH that my parents had made me keep up with lessons. I would love to be able to play today.
