Let's Go Racin' Boys!....

Greg and I just got back from our 4 day weekend excursion to the Chicago NASCAR race. We had the most fabulous time despite Jimmie losing the lead (and the race) in the last two laps :(

It was a night race this year. That is the grandstands behind me. We camp and watch the race from the infield right behind the drivers' motorcoaches. Yes, I look like a geek....I know. But, that is what this weekend is all about. We have LOTS of fun ;) Yes, I had Phil's headphones on (I love to listen the driver chatter!) and no I am not sure where the beads came from.

Yes, we had a ton of fun, a million laughs, a FEW beverages :) and lots of late, late nights (or early mornings..whatever).

And Greg watching the race from the top of the camper. (This is what you do when you watch a race from the infield--beats the heck out of being in the grandstands with 200,000 of your closest friends :)

And, as usual, most of what happened in Chicago must stay in Chicago because that's just how it works. This is a family friendly blog and this posted has been edited :)

Thanks a million to my parents watched the kids so that we could get away for a bit! I know it wasn't an easy job--lots of running around to their various activities and the typical bickering between them, but they didn't come home too spoiled and they are WORE OUT!
But, I think I made the biggest sacrifice in that I had to go to CARL EDWARDS trailer to get my dad a hat.....UGH :) Don't worry Dave---I went incognito--no one knew it was me :) HA! More pics to come later....I know you are all waiting on pins and needles for that :)
