This morning at work at about 8:20am I got a call from Colby's school secretary. As soon as I hear her say, "this is Jill" I usually get that awful feeling in the pit of my stomach knowing that something must be wrong. Today she says, "Colby's upset and wants to talk to you". So Colby gets on the phone. Apparently she had taken our black permanent marker in her bag (which I don't allow) and her and her friend were coloring on the bus. Supposedly her friend grabbed the marker and got it on Colby's coat. So, Colby, knowing that she shouldn't have had the marker anyway, was worried about getting in trouble for the marker on her coat. I reassured her that we could get it out and not to worry about it. Her meek little tearful voice was pathetic. After we got off the phone I quickly Googled "how to get permanent marker out of fabric" and came across all kinds of helpful stain removal hints. Now when I get home tonight I will be using hairspray and rubbing alcohol on the marker and trying Windex on the nail polish that these same two little girls spilled on the carpet in the living room and Colby's room :)
Oh the worries of a 7 year old. I wish my only concern of the day was marker on my coat.....
